Nowadays making a biopic has become a new trend in Bollywood. Movies like Sanju, Mary Kom, Azhar, Sachin: A Billion Dreams, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag are few of them. Now a new biopic is getting added to the list.
This time the biopic is taken based on the Legendary Cricket Captain Kapil Dev. As reports suggest, Ranveer Singh has been roped in to play the role of Kapil Dev. The movie will be directed by Kabir Khan. The project would be backed by Phantom films, co-owned by filmmakers Anurag Kashyap, Vikas Bahl, Vikramaditya Motwane and Madhu Mantena.
According to sources, the film will be mainly focusing on India’s first ever Cricket World Cup Victory on 1983 under the captainship of Kapil Dev. As of now, only Ranveer Singh has been cast for the movie. It would be interesting to see how the director will be conceiving Kapil Dev’s life.
Certain reports suggest that the team are planning to start the movie shooting by mid-2018 and to make the movie hit the theatres in April 2019. Anyway, we are expecting an official announcement soon.
