Hindi movie ‘Kalank’, directed by Abhishek Verman is releasing today. "Kalank" is 80 crore project which stars Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt, and Madhuri Dixit in the lead roles. The plot is based on a love story that is happening in 1945 between Roop Chaudry (Alia) and Zafar (Varun), as the aftermath of which is revealed some long-buried secrets of betrayal and affairs crashing down the worlds of the duo.
Many from the film fraternity-Karan Johar, Abhishek Bachan and others have conveyed their wishes for the success of the film and it is already receiving acclaims from release centers. The sets of ‘Kalank’ are rich and the story is beautifully executed as per the reviews received so far.
There are certain trivia circulating in the internet saying ‘Kalank’ was actually the title decided for ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’ and ‘Kurbaan’ earlier, but later decided not to. Also, the role played by Madhuri Dixit was actually proposed to Sridevi, 15 years ago, by Karan Johar and his father, but the project failed to commence due to unfavorable circumstances existing then.
‘Kalank’ is produced by Dharma Productions, FOX Star Studios, and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The music is directed by Pritam and cinematography by Binod Pradhan. The official trailer which was released on April 03, 2019 fetched more than 24 million views till date.
