There were reports doing the round for a while regarding a sports biopic on former Indian footballer IM Vijayan. Now the project has been confirmed and will go on floors soon.
The movie will be directed by Arun Gopy and will star Actor Nivin Pauly in the lead role. The movie will be scripted jointly by Arun Gopy and sports journalist Padmakumar. IM Vijayan is one of the finest footballers India have produced. He was known as “black pearl of India”. He started his life from a humble background as a soda seller and eventually rising as a football star. IM Vijayan even tried his hand in acting and his gearing up for producing a movie.
In meanwhile, Director Murali Gopy stated that the project will start rolling from next year. The project got delayed due to the release of the movie “Captain”. “Captain” starred Jayasurya based on the life late Indian footballer VP Sathyan. Anyway, Actor Nivin Pauly needs to transform himself to enact IM Vijayan in the big screen. Surely, it would be a challenging role for Nivin Pauly.
