Asuravadham – Well Crafted Revenge Thriller!!!!!

Sasikumar starring “Asuravadham” has hit the theatres today (29th June 2018). The movie directed by Marudhupandian. The movie stars Nandita Shweta, Vasumithra, Sreejith Ravi, Avyga.

The movie takes place in suburban place in Kodaikanal where the character Samayan (played by Vasumithra) get frequent calls from an unknown number. Samayan’s tries to pick up the call, but call gets cut just after one ring. Finally, the caller does connect. But, he gets a frightening message: “that he will be murdered in a week’s time".

Who is the stranger who called “Samayan”? What will happen to “Samayan”? Is this a revenge? Answers to these question lies in the remaining part of the movie.

As usual, Sasikumar was good in his role. He has very few dialogues, but his body language, powerful eyes, and action creates a terror feeling. Vasumithra has done total justice to his character. Actress Nandita has a brief role but has performed well in it.

The story of the movie is ordinary, but it elevated by Director Marudhupandian’s screenplay and filmmaking style. Special appreciation must go to Cinematographer Kathir, Music and BGM by Govind and action choreographer Dhilip Subbarayan. Cinematography, Music, Action elevate the tension which is necessary for a suspense thriller. The raw actions sequence choreographed by Dhilip Subbarayan do elevate the movie to a different level.

Director Marudhupandian has handled an intense subject with a lot of clarity and conviction. So without any doubt, Asuravadham is a well-crafted revenge thriller, which must be surely watched in theatres.
