Anushka Shetty’s  Bhaagamathie receiving good reviews from viewers and directed by G Ashok. This revenge thriller starring lady superstar Anushka Shetty, Unni Mukundan, Aadhi, Jayaram, Asha Sarath etc.  Anushka Shetty delivers terrific performance. The film highlight is a wonderful performance of Anushka Shetty and other co-actors.  But viewers said some scenes are repetitive. But total performance and feel are good.

Story

The film follows the life of Chanchala (Anushka), an IAS officer, who is sent to prison after she kills a social activist (Unni Mukundan). When a CBI officer (played by Asha Sharath) is sent to investigate Chanchala to find out more details about Eshwar Prasad (Jayaram), a central minister, things go completely haywire in a dilapidated bungalow that was once the house of Bhaagamathie. The rest of the story is about how Chenchala manages to escape from the fury of Bhaagamathie and how that affects everyone else.  The brief romance with Shakti (an uneven performance from Unni Mukundan) comes to us in bits and pieces through a non-linear narrative, adding to the suspense.

Actors Performance

Anushka alternates between playing the gentle Chanchala and the vengeful Bhaagamathie with ease. Anushka is wonderful and delivers a power-packed performance. Asha Sharath (Vaishnavi ) in a tailor-made role as CBI director. Jayaram, who plays a politician and mentor to Chanchala, makes the best of a poorly written character.  Jayaram and Asha Sharath too deliver credible performances, along with Murali Sharma and Unni Mukundan, who shine in their respective roles. The all actors are done very well and their performance is good.

Technically

Director Ashok gives us a story that involves a bit of political intrigue and this is what makes Bhaagamathie a little different from other horror-thrillers. The director puts Telugu masala flavor and lots of twist to the film. Thamman's background score is good for the total mood of the movie. The movie cinematography is impressive handled by Madhie. The film owes a lot to the production designer Ravinder and music director Thaman.
