MAJILI – A ship about relationships which is worth a watch.
Majili is a Telugu movie starring Naga Chaitanya, Samantha Akkineni and Divyansha Kaushik in lead role in the lead roles. The movie is directed by Shiva Nirvana. The movie got released on April 5th, 2019.
The movie revolves around the alcoholic, heartbroken failed cricketer Naga Chaitanya (Poorna) life. He is married to Sravani (Samantha), who is very caring of him and always hope he will change as she knows his wounds would heal. Poorna always borrows money from Sravani for daily boozing. So, what is the real issue for his depression? Poorna was a budding cricketer who falls in love with Anshu (Divyansha Kaushik). When all things move smoothly, there happens a fall out between Poorna and the Captain of the team. Poorna quits the team and decides to work for a corrupt politician Bhushan (Subbarao). This turns his life around. In meanwhile, Poorna and Anshu get separated by their parents.
This series of events pushes Poorna into depression. In sideways, Sravani lived in the same area and falls in love with Poorna without his love. After years, they get married, but Poorna has moved on from the depression and he doesn’t understand Sravani. In meanwhile, Sravani is very supportive and always confident Poorna will change. Will Poorna change and start a new life with Sravani, the remaining story revolves around this.
The performance wise Samantha stands out. She outshines with her subtle and powerful performance. Naga Chaitanya gave a decent performance as a bearded, heartbroken alcoholic guy. Rao Ramesh who plays the role of Poorna's father and Posani Murali Krishna as Sravani's father performed well and lifts the movie. The director Shiva Nirvana who has written the script for the movie has handled the movie well. Priyatama song is a so soulful and the song will be there in our mind even after we leave the theaters. At times, unwanted action and songs could have been avoided. The climax could have been better.
Anyway, Majili is an emotional drama which entertains us and keeps us interested. Surely Majili, very good movie to watch. Very good performance by the all-star cast. Majili is a ship about relationships which is worth a watch.
