Ranam also known as Detroit Crossing, is a Malayalam Movie starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Rahman and Isha Talwar. The movie is directed by debutant director Nirmal Sahadev.

Ranam is a movie which comes under “Crime Drama” genre. The movie which has a run time of 2 hrs & 16 min. Ranam is a gripping crime drama, with well narrated story and screenplay. The movie is about character Aadhi (played by Prithviraj) who is a drug dealer in Detriot. He is planning to enter into new life by cutting off all his underworld connections. But life has something else stored for him. The remaining movie deals with it. He is feared of losing his loved ones. The real war begins now. Can Aadhi begin a new life off from Underworld or will his life get finished by his rivals in the underworld? The movie shows us that.

On Performance part, the entire cast has done a good and decent job. Without no doubt Prithviraj has made character “Aadhi” memorable. His strong voice, accent and urban look give more charm and power to the character “Aadhi”. Rahman (Damodar Ratnam) plays the villain role. He plays the strong villain which plays an important part in the movie. Rahman's role makes Prithviraj’s role more convincing. Isha Talwar (Seema) plays the role of a confused mother of a hopeless teenager, Nandhu as Bhaskar plays as helpless dad, both of them have done a decent job. Ashwin Kumar (Selvan) plays as the trustworthy brother to Rahman. Director Shyama Prasad (Chandran) who plays a cop who set out to make Detroit a crime free place.

The music by Jakes Bejoy and Cinematography by Jigme Tenzing adds beauty to the narration and to the movie as a whole. The movie has metro gangster narrative. It is coming of age gangster movie which will surely set a new standard to all Malayalam Gangster movie to come in future. The movie is without no is an engaging crime thriller. Must Watch movie with no doubt.
