Ratsasan is a Tamil movie starring Vishnu and Amala Paul in the lead. The movie is written and directed Ramkumar. The movie got released on October 5, 2018. 

Ratsasan is a Psychological Thriller movie, which is really engaging and engage in seat movie. The thriller has a gripping story and a well-narrated screenplay. The movie is about Arun (played by Vishnu Vishal) who aspire of becoming a film director. He has done a lot of research about psycho serial killers and is keen on making a movie on it. He meets a lot of producers in order to make his dream come true. He fails to convince any producers, as producers turn down his script. In meanwhile he is pressurized by his family to become a Police officer, as his late Father was a cop and his uncle (Ramdoss) is also in the police department. 

Then comes a case of a school going girl who is murdered in a gruesome manner. Arun (Vishnu) finds out that there is some connection to a previous case. As he has previously done a lot of research about serial psycho killers for his movie script. He has a valid point, but his seniors ignore him, he fights and proves his points are valid.

Soon, more serial killing happens of school girls and even a personal loss. Then starts the hunt for the serial killer. How Arun (Vishnu) nabs the serial killer? Why the serial killer targets school girls? The remaining part of the film answers these questions. 

Amala Paul (Viji) who plays the role of a Teacher has an important role to play in the film as she has a pivotal role in the investigation process. The scenes between Amala Paul (Viji) and Arun (Vishnu) are well crafted by the director that it does happen in the background of the investigation. 

On Performance part, the entire cast has done a good and decent job. Without no doubt, Vishnu has gone into the character. Virtually he has lived the role. Amala Paul, Ramdoss has done a decent job. 

The credit goes to the director and writer Ramkumar for great script and direction. The proved his excellence in the making of the film. For the violent scenes, the director has used good edits and music rather than gory visual. The music by Ghibran and the tight editing by San Lokesh make the movie an edge-of-the-seat movie. The movie is a must watch movie for all who like Psychological Thrillers.
