REVIEW
Rekka is the sixth movie of Vijay Sethupathi this year and his last movie was Aandavan Kattalai which was a blockbuster in the box office. He has done a superb performance. He carried the mass hero role to good effect. Lakshmi Menon is made to look and emote like your oft seen "Loosu ponnu". K.S. Ravikumar, Sri Ranjini, Kabir Khan and Harish Uttaman have done a decent performance.
Romance portion between Vijay Sethupathi and Lakshmi Menon is constructed over a base similar to the one in Gilli.
Background score and music are good. Cinematography by Dinesh Krishna has lot of zipping and zooming work. Editor Praveen KL has done well. He keeps the story moving at a brisk pace. The stunt choreography sometimes looks unnatural. Director Rathina Siva have a good story line but the screenplay leaves a lot to be desired.
Overall as an action-masala movie, Rekka hardly lands any punch.
