Vikram and Tamannaah starrer Pongal release Sketch directed and written by Vijay Chander. Sketch is a Tamil action thriller and produced by Moving Frame. This film is exactly a Pongal mass entertainer. A wonderful treat to Chiyaan Vikram fans on this Pongal festival. The film highlights are fight sequences work well, comedy scenes and the chemistry of the lead pair. There is an unexpected twist towards the climax that will surely surprise all audiences; undoubtedly sketch is a mass entertainer on this festival season. Other co-actors are Soori, Vishwanath, and R. K. Suresh among others portraying supporting roles.

Plot

The film presents Vada Chennai (North Chennai), which is otherwise shown rural and rustic in films, in a more sophisticated manner. Sketch, whose real name is Jeeva, works under a financier named Sett. Sketch's main job is to seize the vehicles of all those who don't pay back the money on time. One day, he is assigned a similar task, but it leads to a bit of trouble. Equally annoying is the way women are treated in Sketch. Tamannaah plays an educated girl, Amuthavalli, who falls for Sketch. Ammu is a gorgeous brahmin girl who is quite literally a girl next door - she is there wherever Sketch is as their romance buds. She starts off antagonizing Sketch but later falls for him, taking us through a well-watched trope, as she discovers his good qualities.

Technically

Vijay Chandar has done a decent job by packaging an entertainer. Thaman's melodies give a good feel for this movie. The BGM by Thaman is one of the high points of the film. It helps the film to build the tempo, in many sequences. Cinematography and editing are added plus point of this movie.

Actors Performance

Vikram, with his performance, assures that his fans won't be left disappointed. The style quotient of the actor is unmatchable and the effort that he is put in for the action sequences is quite evident.  Tamannaah performed well.  Baburaj plays the role of the main antagonist and he has done a good job by presenting a villain with a different style. Sriman gets to play a meaty role and he pulls it off with ease.  Hareesh Peradi as Seth is impressive. Similar is the case of RK Suresh.  Soori does evoke a few waves of laughter.

Audience Reviews

Sathish Kumar M:

#Sketch Kollywood's commercial North Chennai based revenge action movie with #Chiyaan #Vikram in it. Preinterval Scene & forced message oriented climax are the positives along with @MusicThaman BGM

Sreedhar Pillai:

#Sketch A film which works to a large extent on #Vikram's charisma and the ease which he does mass roles in style. The surprise twist in the climax with a nice message helps it to a certain extent. @MusicThaman peppy scores.

Martin N Joseph:

#Sketch - After a slow and boring start picks up well near to the interval. Terrific screen presence and complete one man show from #Chiyaan !! Usual gangster stuffs but entertaining so far.
