Vignesh Shivan directed Surya and Keerthi Suresh starring latest Tamil movie Thaanaa Serndha Koottam hits on theaters now. This film is a good family entertainer with a lot of comic sequences. This film based on Neeraj Pandey’s Special 26 (2013). This film produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja under the banner of Studio Green. Anirudh’s songs are already a hit and too good.
Plot
The movie is set in 1987 and Suriya plays the role of an educated man who wishes to join the CBI. He wants to conduct raids and expose corrupt politicians, businessmen, and clean up the system. But Uthaman, a corrupt CBI officer played by Suresh Menon, acts as a hurdle to this dream and further insults Suriya for having lofty aspirations when he is just the son of a clerk. The hero, who is from a humble background, sees that his friends too are unable to join various government departments due to their lack of resources to pay officials bribes. Enraged by this, he brings together a group of con artists who decide to perform raids by pretending to be CBI and Income Tax (IT) officials.
Actors Performance
It is an intelligently scripted film about a group of con men and women, with some outstanding performances by the lead actors — mainly Suriya and Ramya Krishnan. Ramya Krishnan truly “steals” the show. Keerthy Suresh as Suriya’s romantic interest shines as the coy con woman. Comedians Senthil and Sathyan bring in the laughs. Other co-actors are Anandraj, Karthik, RJ Balaji, Sathyan, Suresh Menon handle their roles decently.
Technically
The soundtrack and background score by Anirudh matches the pace of the plot and includes several hummable songs. Veteran Sreekar Prasad’s editing keeps the film racy at 132 minutes. Dinesh Krishnan’s colorful visuals are TSK added plus point.
